On this day in 1974, the animated short ‘Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too’ was released widely in theaters, playing ahead of the live-action Arctic adventure film ‘The Island at the Top of the World.’ The short was the third to feature characters from the Hundred Acre Wood. It was based on three chapters from ‘Winnie-the-Pooh’ and ‘The House at Pooh Corner’ by A. A. Milne. The cartoon was nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film! [50 years ago in 2024]
