Walls Come Down From Around New Entrance Gates at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure

The entrance turnstiles are getting upgraded at the Disneyland Resort. The new gates will modernize the entrance process to create a more efficient and pleasant experience for guests visiting the Disneyland Resort parks. The entire project is expected to continue through the end of the year and be completed at some point in 2025.

At the entrances of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, walls have been up as teams worked on upgrading the entrance process. This weekend the walls came down. The west end of each entrance now boasts these new entrance gates.

The turnstiles have appeared in a much smaller scale earlier this year at Disney California Adventure as a lead-up to the upgrade. At the time, Kevin Gidden, General Manager Arrival Experience said, “We continue to invest in the overall guest experience, and our updated, enhanced entry gates will really elevate the process of arriving at our theme parks. The test entry gate installed at Disney California Adventure Park will enable our teams to get hands-on experience that will help inform the final install beginning later this year.”

The Daps Magic team stopped by the Disneyland Resort to check out the new gates. They can be seen below. When they begin to be used, they will allow for a quicker entry process that will also be more convenient for guests with wheelchairs/ECVs or strollers.

When the project is completed in 2025, all of the new entrance gates will be ADA-compliant. ECVs, wheelchairs, and strollers will be able to enter through any entry gate into the parks at the Disneyland Resort. These gates will be found at the main entrances of the two theme parks, hotels, monorail, and also Downtown Disney District.
