The Wailulu Bar & Grill will be opening on December 17, 2024, at the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. This casual walk-up pool bar and grill will allow guests to enjoy dining and also take in breathtaking views along the water’s edge of Seven Seas Lagoon. There will also be some wonderful decorations including Polynesian-inspired artwork that was crafted exclusively for this location.
This new dining location promises to take guests on a culinary version when they visit. This will be true in the morning as they enjoy specialty coffee and on-the-go morning pastries for breakfast, or if they are venturing over for lunch or dinner. The menu at the Wailulu Bar & Grill is a celebration of the flavors of Polynesia with influences of the Pacific Islands, from Easter Island and New Zealand to Fiji and Guam.
The menu includes some cultural highlights like Sweet Potato Hummus with Breadfruit Tostones, Spiced Ham Musubi, and Chocolate Cake with the essence of Kona coffee. There is also a beverage menu that combines the modern flavors of the Polynesian Islands with classic ingredients like hibiscus flowers, sake, yuzu, pandan, oolong tea, coffee, and passionfruit. Some of the cocktails that are highlighted by Disney ahead of the opening include the Pandan Gin Gin Mule and Passionfruit and Pineapple Daiquiri, along with the non-alcoholic specialty beverages including the Hibiscus Iced Tea and Yuzu Oolong Tea Lemonade.
The name also draws inspiration from these cultures as well. Wailulu comes from the Hawaiian words “wai,” which means water, and “lulu,” meaning calm. Below is a more in-depth look at the menu items guests will be able to enjoy when Wailulu Bar & Grill opens later this month.
