On this day in 1984, the TV special ‘Donald Duck’s 50th Anniversary’ was broadcast on CBS. Dick Van Dyke served as the emcee for the show that featured a look back at Donald Duck through the years. Special attention was given to a birthday tour that Donald participated in earlier that year. He visited Europe, Japan, and the United States to much fanfare and celebration. The show ended at Disneyland with a special parade in Donald’s honor. [40 years ago in 2024]
