The next installment in the Avatar will be arriving in theaters on December 19, 2025. This weekend at D23 Brazil – A Disney Experience, concept art for the upcoming film was shared. Creator and director James Cameron streamed in on video to share the news and artwork of Avatar: Fire and Ash with those in attendance. To say it is a beautiful is a major understatement.
The concept art was created by Dylan Cole, Zachary Berger, and Steve Messing. It shows different parts of Pandora with two new tribes and villages where the ash and fire Na’vi reside.
The Ash People are a reflection of the worst side of Na’ai. Cameron said, “We have a lot of anger and a lot of rage in the world we live in right now.” Check out the concept art here:
Avatar: Fire and Ash was originally announced by James Cameron at this summer’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. He also revealed that he plans to direct both Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 unless he’s “hit by a bus.”
At this point, there are not trailers or teasers for the film. Cameron said that this is an “insane adventure that also has high emotional stakes, more than ever before. We are going into challenging territories. There are new characters, and one you’ll love to hate. New cultures and settings and biomes and more of Pandora.”
Both of the previous Avatar movies have proven to be very successful at the box office with each having the largest hauls of all time. Avatar: The Way of Water was released in 2022 and became the sixth film in history to earn $2 billion globally at the box office.
