The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure has gotten a bit of an update. This new telling of this classic Disney’s Hollywood Studios show based on the animated classic from Walt Disney Animation Studios was originally slated to open in the fall of 2024. However, there has been an update and now it appears that the show will instead be arriving in the summer of 2025.
The following update was added to the Disney Parks Blog post that originally announced this show:
As we continue to look forward to “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure,” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios we are taking the next steps and filing permits for an all-new marquee. Work on the exterior of the building will begin soon, in preparation for the premiere of this fully reimagined show in summer 2025. We look forward to sharing more details on this exciting new experience soon.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure will have fan-favorite tunes from the original musical animated feature. This includes Part of Your World, Poor Unfortunate Souls, and others. Kiss the Girl, as seen above, will be a brand new addition to the show.
Along with sharing initially about the show, Disney has also shared about the technology, puppetry, and more magic that will be a part of this show. This includes an adorable recreation of Max!
