On this day in 2007, the Halloween Tree was dedicated in Frontierland at Disneyland. Draped in orange lights and hand-drawn jack-o-lanterns, the tree celebrates the 35th anniversary of Ray Bradbury’s 1972 novel, ‘The Halloween Tree’ and the traditions it represents. Bradbury, a long-time Disney advocate and a special friend of Walt, illuminated the tree for the first time. He was able to visit his tree several more times before his passing in 2012.
