Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open at Disneyland on November 15, 2024. When it does, guests at the Disneyland Resort will get to experience the next chapter of Princess Tiana’s story. This experience will include new and familiar characters, new music, and a lot of details to discover!
One of these details is an apparent nod to the former attraction that was found in this location, Splash Mountain. In the queue, there is a model of a riverboat. This looks much like the one that was seen in the grand finale of Splash Mountain. Friend of Daps Magic, Spencer, discovered the queue while wandering around the outside of the attraction after the walls came down. The model can be found over a fireplace in the queue that can be seen from outside (do not cross any ropes or fences to try and find this if you are looking!). A photo of the model that Spencer took can be seen here:
There are many other fun details to be found in this queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. It is possible there are other nods to the former attraction as well. There are undoubtably other nods to The Princess and the Frog throughout the queue and the attraction. It will be exciting to find them once it opens.
The riverboat model, if it does indeed turn out to be a nod to the former attraction, continues a tradition of placing nods to former inhabitants of a space when it is reimagined by Disney. Just across from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, a nod can be found to The Country Bear Jamboree. That location once where the Country Bears performed. Soon, Hungry Bear Restaurant will reopen as Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree. This will have the restaurant be filled with Country Bear tunes, decorations, and delicious food!
