On this day in 1989, ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ was placed on the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry. Each year, 25 films are chosen to represent the scope of American film heritage. To qualify, a film must be “culturally, historically, or esthetically significant.” ‘Snow White’ meets all three criteria. The first feature-length animated film, ‘Snow White’ has lavish visuals, touching music, and a carefully crafted story that made it a classic. [35 years ago in 2024]
