Disneyland Resort has unveiled a new investment in Cast Member wellness. This comes in the form of a new Cast Care Center and outdoor green space. This is part of efforts being made by Disney to help Cast Members focus on their wellness and give the magic makers the ability to continue to provide magic for guests from around the world. This Cast Care Center focuses on the well-being of Cast Members.
The Cast Care Center first opened at Disneyland Resort in 2022. It had the stated mission of helping Cast Members “face life’s hurdles with confidence.” This space has support and resources for Cast Members to utilize. After opening, it quickly became clear how important this resource was for Cast members.
“It’s been truly inspiring to see how large and important the Cast Care Center has become over the years to so many cast members,” said Stage Manager Kaitlyn Parsons. “From the launch of the daily Cast Care Leader Program to a space solely dedicated to Cast Care, it truly shows how this company prioritizes their cast members and will continue to do so for years to come.”
The success of the original Cast Care Center led to the opening of a new Cast Care Center and outdoor green space. On hand for the opening was Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock along with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse as well.
“This multipurpose facility is another example of the intentionality we’re putting into enhancing our cast experience,” said Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock. “I’m thrilled cast members will have one-on-one support to access the many services and benefits available to them and their families.”
This is a new facility that was constructed specifically for this purpose. The interior will provide a place for Cast Members to receive in-depth information and assistance in utilizing company-provided resources. This includes the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Disneyland Resort Child Care Program, life support through CARE, Commuter Assistance, and more offerings.
The new space will be open for extended hours to allow for an increased focus on providing resources for Cast Members who work overnight or other shifts that aren’t during normal operating hours. There are also now three ways for Cast Members to connect with care representatives. They can visit in person, call, or reach out to the Cast Care Center through an online system.
There is a team of incredible well-being navigators who are guiding individuals through the process of finding the best resources for each Cast Member at the Cast Care Center.
“I am grateful for our Cast Care Leaders because they are the heart of Cast Care and our well-being initiatives,” said Cast Care Program Manager, Sunny Park. “These leaders choose to volunteer their time and energy to uplift all those around them, serving as champions of our program together. It is through them that we can hear the voices of our cast members and advance a culture of care.”
With over 35,000 Cast Members at the Disneyland Resort, the Cast Care Center is a wonderful way for Cast Members to recharge and take care of their well-being. This helps them prioritize care for themselves and their families and also helps create a healthier and happier work environment for these magic makers.
