Disability Access Service (DAS) Validity Period Extended at Walt Disney World Resort

Walt Disney World Resort has extended the validity period for its Disability Access Service, or DAS. After the system was recently updated, DAS was valid for 120 days. Now it has been doubled and is valid for 240 days.

On the Walt Disney World Resort, an FAQ answers the question of how long DAS is valid. The new answer is as follows:

DAS is valid for the length of the ticket or up to 240 days, whichever is shorter. Once the service has elapsed, Guests need to re-register for the program.

DAS is intended to “accommodate those Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time.” The extended validity will benefit those who visit Walt Disney World Resort multiple times for multiple vacations.

For those who need to register for DAS, it can be done online from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET online via video chat. This can be done up to 30 days ahead of a visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Walt Disney World Resort does not have in-person registration for the service.

Disability Access Service Registration at Walt Disney World Resort

Process:

Step 1: Register via live video chat
Step 2: Request return times for attractions when visiting the parks via the My Disney Experience app. Return times will be comparable to current wait times.
Step 3: Enjoy the park! 10 minutes after one return time is called, another can be selected.

Things to Know:

  • If DAS is provided after a conversation with a Cast Member to determine eligibility, the Guest with a disability (or a parent/guardian) will participate in the registration process. This requires having a photo taken of the DAS-registered Guest.
  • Guests may discuss their needs with a Cast Member via live video chat as soon as 30 days prior to their park visit. Cast Members will work with Guests individually to discuss specific requests and offer assistance.
  • DAS registration maximum party size is the registered DAS Guest and up to 3 additional party members, for a total of 4 people.
  • DAS is valid for the length of the ticket or up to 240 days. Once the service has elapsed or when a new ticket is required, Guests will need to re-register.
  • Guests registered in DAS can make return time selections right in the My Disney Experience mobile app on the day of their visit.
  • If additional assistance is required, Guests can also obtain return times directly from a Cast Member at any Guest Relations or Guest Experience Team location.
  • DAS return times are valid until the park closes or an attraction closes for the day. A party can only hold one active DAS return time at once.
  • There is not an in-person option to request DAS registration, but Guests who do not register in advance can participate in a live video conference on the day of their visit.
  • DAS is valid only throughout the Resort at which it was issued. DAS issued at Walt Disney World Resort, for example, is not valid at the Disneyland Resort, and vice versa.
  • If it is determined that any of the statements a Guest made in the process of obtaining DAS are not true, the Guest will be permanently barred from entering Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort, and any previously purchased Annual Passes , Magic Key passes, tickets and other park products and services will be forfeited and not refunded.

Daps Magic will continue to follow any updates to the Disability Access Service and share them as they happen. At this point, there are no changes to DAS at the Disneyland Resort.
