On this day in 1934, the cartoon ‘Orphan’s Benefit’ was released. Mickey and his friends put on a show to raise money for some orphaned mice. This short contained several “firsts” – the first time that Donald Duck appeared together with Mickey Mouse, the introduction of Clara Cluck, and the first time the name “Goofy” was used instead of Dippy Dawg. It was also the first occasion that Donald lost his temper and took his trademark fighting stance. [90 years ago in 2024]
