Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows Details Revealed

The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is the newest addition to Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. It is expected to open on December 17, 2024. Ahead of its opening, Disney has shared some details that will be found when guests visit the Island Tower.

Pool & Splash Pad

For guests of all ages, they will be encouraged to embrace their inner wayfinder as they visit Moana’s Voyage. This is a splash area with life-size sculptures of Moana and her iconic canoe from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film. This will be a place for play that will also inspire the imagination and spirit of adventure.

The Cove Pool will also be found at the Island Tower. This new zero entry pool will offer plenty of opportunities to relax. Disney Vacation Club Members and guests who stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will get the chance to enjoy these new aquatic features.

Terrace Gardens

There will be four terrace gardens to be found throughout the Island Tower. These will be accessible solely to Disney Vacation Club members and guests of the Island Tower.

Each of the terrace gardens will have vibrant artwork on display. There will also be lush foliage and uniquely themed seating areas to enjoy. These are distinctively designed hideaways that are meant to give families a serenes locale to gather and enjoy the views while staying at the Island Tower.

There will also be some beautiful views found from these terrace gardens. They will offer lovely views of Disney’s Oak Trail and Magnolia Golf Courses or Seven Seas Lagoon. They will be fantastic locations to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks as well.

Wailulu Bar & Grill

The Wailulu Bar & Grill will offer guests the chance to enjoy the delicious flavors of Polynesia. Wailulu” gets its name from the Hawaiian words “wai,” which means water, and “lulu” which means calm. This seems quite fitting with the breathtaking views of the Seven Seas Lagoon that will be offered from this venue.

There will be spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas found at Wailulu Bar & Grill. There also promises to be a spectacular bar space. All of these will have views of Cinderella’s Castle at Magic Kingdom. This is a casual walk-up pool bar that will offer an all-day menu for lunch and dinner. The menu will be influenced by Polynesian Islands’ local and indigenous ingreadients. There will also be specialty coffee and on-the-go morning pastries available for those looking for breakfast.

Dazzling Polynesian-inspired artwork will be found throughout the dining room. This artwork was created exclusively for the space. There will be floating tropical fish sculptures that are created using recycled materials and reclaimed fishing nets. The fish will be “swimming” throughout the space. This will lead to a grand textile piece featured in the bar area. This will represent a colorful coral reef.

In the center of the dining room there will be an abstract Polynesian Stick Chart. This is an ancient navigation tool used to traverse the seas. A vibrant centerpiece that is comprised of beautiful shades of blue, teal, and green faux stained-glass will create a relaxing nautical ambiance.

Moana fans will be happy to discover that there will be a painting on display of the wayfinding princess at the Wailulu Bar & Grill. The menu hasn’t been released yet for this venue but Disney promises it is coming soon!
