The Haunted Mansion continues to see work taking place on its grounds. This comes ahead of its Halloween Time return when Jack Skellington will deck the halls with his version of Christmas/Halloween magic. When the Haunted Mansion does reopen, however, work will still continue on the grounds outside. This will include the new queue and also the gift shop at the exit that will be themed to Madame Leota.
Over the weekend, the Daps Magic team took a trip on the Rivers of America and documented the progress that is being made on Haunted Mansion. Below is a look at where the progress is as of July 14, 2024. There is a video and photos showcasing how far things have come and how far they still have to go. Take a look!
Along with the work that is being done on the grounds of the Haunted Mansion, the walkway that runs from New Orleans Square to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is also currently under construction. Currently, this means that this walkway is closed. A quick look at what is being done there explains why.
It is exciting to see the progress that is being made. It will be fun to see it continue and be completed. Below is a look at the concept art for the area around Haunted Mansion to provide a vision of what is on the horizon.
The work that is being done to enhance the queue will also make it more immersive. This new queue will continue the story and lore of the Haunted Mansion outside of the Haunted halls and walls. There will also be a new stand-alone shop at the exit of this beloved attraction as well. The legend behind the Haunted Mansion that this now haunted manor was once built by a prosperous sea captain. Now, years later, the mansion’s staff continue to maintain the happy haunting grounds. The new expanded queue will be tying into these stories along with some others. There will also be new gardens inspired by Master Gracey, Madam Leota, and the one-eyed cat.
At the exit of the Haunted Mansion, there will be a new shop. This will be in the form of the carriage house for the Haunted Mansion and will belong to Madame Leota. At this time, it is unknown when exactly this shop will be opening, along with the rest of the queue as well.
