On this day in 1988, The Norway Pavilion opened at EPCOT, the second and most recent new pavilion to be added after opening day. The pavilion recreated a Norwegian village, complete with four authentic styles of architecture. Then-Crown Prince Harald V of Norway performed the dedication, which was broadcast live back home. Norway partially funded the pavilion to promote tourism, since at that time as many people visited EPCOT annually as lived in Norway!
