A new entrance is now open on the west end of Downtown Disney District. This new entrance and security checkpoint is near the Simba Parking Lot, by the new Din Tai Fung restaurant.
Daps Magic team member Steven was visiting the Disneyland Resort on Friday morning and discovered the new entrance was open. It has a wonderful new feel and is very welcoming to walk up. There is also a new mural and restrooms just inside. The mural was created by Nikkolas Smith. Nikkolas was also responsible for designing the sculpture tower at the performance stage. It is a tribute to the pioneering Black architects in Southern California during the mid-20th century. Work also continues to move forward and progress made on Din Tai Fung as well.
Another update in Downtown Disney District is the walls that were in the area around the temporary Earl of Sandwich location have come down. There have been walls up in this area since the holidays.
Over at the Disneyland Hotel, work continues on The Coffee House. It is currently set to reopen on July 1, 2024.
The changes happening around Downtown Disney come as the entertaining, shopping, and dining district undergoes a substantial transformation. This has led to re-imagined offerings, new establishments, and even a new entertainment and stage area.
