On this day in 1997, Disney’s Touchstone Pictures released ‘Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.’ Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow star as friends who realize ahead of their 10-year high school reunion that they haven’t achieved the successes they hoped for in life. They end up inventing an elaborate history for themselves, a lie that gets more and more out of hand. The film was received well by critics and audiences, and is now considered a cult classic.
