Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite is now offered on multiple nights throughout the end of April and the beginning of May. This celebration of all that is Star Wars takes over the entire Disneyland Park with characters, entertainment offerings, merchandise, foods, attractions, and other fun experiences! With all the offerings, it can be intimidating for those heading to Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite as they try to make a game plan. To make this easier, below is an entertainment guide for all that is being offered in that realm at Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite. There are also some tips for how to get the most out of the event as well!
Entertainment – Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite
Lightsaber Meet-Up with Rey
Where: Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
When: 9:00 PM, 10:00 PM, 11:00 PM
This is a MUST DO at Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite. It takes place in the area in front of the Millennium Falcon and includes members of the Resistance, members of the First Order, Rey, and also hundreds of guests in attendance with their lightsabers. The moment is both beautiful and magical. The Daps Magic team caught the first offering of this at the event to not in any way miss it!
Galactic DJ Party Zone
Where: Main Street, USA
When: Throughout the Night
This is a fun way to enter the party. It takes place at the top of Main Street, USA at the Hub. The Partners Statue is lit up with multiple spotlights and creates a really cool effect. The DJ also hosts the Choose Your Path moments throughout the night.
Lightsaber Instructional
Where: Fantasyland near it’s a small world
When: 9:00 PM, 10:00 PM, 11:00 PM
This is an updated version of Jedi Training Academy that has been modernized and made to accommodate all ages. It doesn’t involve Jedi or Sith but does involve some of the training of the Jedi, particularly when it comes to using a lightsaber. This is a fun moment to experience and there are lightsabers to borrow if you didn’t bring one.
March of the First Order
Where: Tomorrowland
When: 9:05 PM, 10:10 PM, 11:15 PM, 12:20 AM
The March of the First Order is a popular entertainment offering that is returning this year. Captain Phasma and her troops show up to look for Resistance fighters… and this year they find them! This is a lot of fun to watch (and in some places experience) from multiple different places throughout Tomorrowland. Look for the tape on the ground for where to stand and watch this moment. The two best places to watch are in front of the Starcade or by the old Innoventions/Star Wars Launch Bay building in front of the lower part of the ramp. This gives two different parts of the story for March of the First Order. It’s also a fun one to catch twice to get both experiences.
Choose Your Path
Light Side
Dark Side
Where: Main Street, USA
When: 9:45 PM, 10:45 PM, 11:30 PM, 12:30 AM
Throughout the event, there are signs with QR codes available where guests can scan one side or the other to choose their path toward the light or dark side of the Force. Multiple times throughout the night, the votes for one side or the other were tallied and then revealed during a moment on Main Street, USA. This is worth catching if you happen to be in the area. It also is kind of fun to be immersive. If you do decide to watch it, be as close to the center of Main Street, USA in every way possible for the best view.
Fans of the Force Costume Cavalcade
Where: Main Street, USA
When: 10:25 PM, 11:25 PM
This is a fun moment to be a part of or watch. This is a cavalcade that encourages everyone to dress their Star Wars best and follow Mickey and Minnie up Main Street, USA to Sleeping Beauty Castle for a photo. This is definitely fun to catch and even more fun to be a part of. It gives the chance to get the photo of a lifetime with a bunch of your closest (and perhaps newest) Star Wars friends.
Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes
Where: Rivers of America
When: 9:15 PM, 10:15 PM, 11:15 PM, 12:15 AM
Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes are almost as iconic as Star Wars is legendary. This brings the entertainers from Star Wars: A New Hope out of the cantina and onto a raft on the Rivers of America. This is a lot of fun to stop by and see for a few minutes!
Fond Farewell
Where: Main Street Station
When: 12:30 AM
This is a very charming way to end the night. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are dressed in their best droid-inspired outfits and stand on the stairs in front of Main Street Station to say goodnight as people leave the party. In previous events, this has been a very crowded moment and space. For Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite, however, guests were stopping by for a quick photo or video and then making their way out of the park and into the night.
Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite has multiple entertainment offerings to be enjoyed throughout the night. To get the most out of the night, definitely make a plan and prioritize. Along with all of the characters, merchandise, foods, and attractions found throughout the park, there is also a patch for Magic Key holders that can be found in Mickey’s Toontown at Mickey’s house. Generally, the Daps Magic team will note all of the times of all of the offerings and then make a game plan for how to attempt to experience as much as possible. This sometimes means making concessions and missing one thing or another. However, it also tends to mean that the team is able to experience the things that are most important to them! Basically, start with a plan of what you are going to do chronologically through the night and then also be flexible if things change or go long.
As with all visits to Disney, what you get out of the event depends on what you bring to it! If you come with a positive attitude and are looking for fun and magic, you’ll most likely find it. On the flip side, if you come looking for things that are wrong… well, that tends to not lead to as much fun at these events. There are countless people who work very hard to create memorable events for the guests that come! Keep that in mind and use what you can to make the event great for yourself and those around you as well! As with all fandoms, just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean that it isn’t loved by someone else! Just keep kind and don’t ruin things for others.
