On this day in 1944, the Donald Duck short cartoon, ‘Contrary Condor’ was released. It is set in the Andes mountains in Colombia and had the working title, ‘Colombian Condor.’ In the short, Donald foolishly tries to snatch a condor egg, but the mother condor returns before he can escape. Donald hides in an empty egg, but regrets his choices when he “hatches” and the mother takes him under her wing. Her “protection” turns out to be a little too much! [80 years ago in 2024]
