Mark Twain Begins Operating Again at Disneyland After Extended Refurbishment

The Mark Twain began taking guests on trips around the Rivers of America today after an extended hiatus where it saw a rather substantial refurbishment. The Mark Twain looks stunning after the work that had been done on it. This included work on wood on the ship, new paint, and much more. The Mark Twain went down for its refurbishment on September 17, 2023. Five months later, it has returned to the Rivers of America.

Daps Magic team member Steven stopped by the Disneyland Resort to experience the Mark Twain on its opening day on the Rivers of America. Below are photos and video of the Mark Twain as it makes its first trips around the Rivers of America. Take a look at the Mark Twain and see the beautiful work done by Disney workers during its down time.

The Mark Twain was originally known as the Mark Twain Steamboat and was built in 1955 for the opening of Disneyland. At the time, it was the first functional steamboat to be constructed in the United States in 50 years. Disney Imagineers meticulously researched real-life steamboats of the past to ensure the Mark Twain captured the essence of the era. Nearly 70 years later, the Mark Twain is still a beloved and iconic attraction at the Disneyland Resort.
