World of Frozen Dedication Ceremony

Hong Kong Disneyland Celebrates Opening of World of Frozen with Special Dedication Ceremony

Hong Kong Disneyland officially opens World of Frozen on November 20, 2023. Ahead of the opening of this new magical area, a special dedication ceremony was held. This special dedication moment had Elsa using her magic to bring to life the World of Arendelle with her Ice Magic, with the help of Anna who announced that the gates were opening.

The ceremony was full of magical moments. It took place along the Bay of Arendelle at World of Frozen. The Royal Choir of Arendelle took to the stage and sang a medley of Frozen songs. This was followed by Disney CEO Bob Iger, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences, and Jennifer Lee sharing some comments about this momentous moment and also welcoming guests.

“The ‘Frozen’ franchise is one of the most successful in Disney history and it’s a testament to the power of great storytelling, which is the foundation of The Walt Disney Company. It’s been this way for 100 years, and our commitment to storytelling and creativity will continue to define our next 100,” Iger said.

D’Amaro also joined in sharing his enthusiasm for the immersive experience, saying, “Our Imagineers worked with the team at Disney Animation to ensure every detail is just right. World of Frozen transports you to another world, where you can have fun with your loved ones and make some incredible memories together.

Jennifer Lee, the key creative behind the Frozen franchise, shared about her excitement to be at the opening of World of Frozen. “We could not have dreamt that one day, we would have the opportunity to walk through and truly experience the kingdom of Arendelle as we all are today. I stand here – representing all of our artists who have worked together to create the ‘Frozen’ films – inspired and amazed.”

Elsa and Anna then took over. Elsa cast her Ice Magic to bring the land to life, and also bring about the appearance of Olaf. Queen Anna then proclaimed that the gates are opening. After this, the sky came to life with a beautiful Frozen-inspired drone show. The drones created beautiful formations from the Frozen movies above Arendelle and mirrored the icons of Elsa’s Ice Magic. They created magical memories for all who were in attendance before they continued to enjoy the magical evening.

There were many guests on hand for this magical moment from around the globe. Along with Robert Iger, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences, and Jennifer Lee, the Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios and also the writer/director of Frozen and Frozen 2, Jill Estorino, President and Managing Director of Disney Parks International, Michael Moriarty, Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort were also on hand.

World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort officially opens to the public on November 20, 2023. The gates will be opening to let the first guests in at 11:30 AM on the first day. This will undoubtably lead to countless memories that will last a lifetime in this World of Frozen.
