First Aid at Disneyland Paris

350 Young People of the French Red Cross Trained in First Aid at Disneyland Paris

On September 13, Disneyland Paris has welcomed 350 young people aged 3 to 18 to learn about lifesaving techniques through fun, interactive workshops run jointly by teams from the French Red Cross, the Fédération nationale des sapeurs-pompiers de France, the Seine et Marne fire and rescue service as well as Disneyland Paris Safety team. These young people, who came from the French Red Cross’ child protection and anti-exclusion centers, were also able to enjoy the parks throughout the day.

This initiative serves as a reminder of the essential role played by first aid in saving lives, preventing injuries and promoting a culture of well-being and safety among citizens throughout the world. Everyone can take action in an emergency situation, and everyone, including the very youngest, can learn first aid so that they acquire the right reflexes at an early age.

As part of the celebration, Disneyland Paris has organized a series of engaging and educational activities at Disney Village to promote first aid awareness. These activities include:

  • First Aid Demonstrations: volunteers from the Seine et Marne and Val de Marne branches of the French Red Cross, the French fire brigade, and the Seine et Marne fire and rescue service and Cast Members from the Safety Operations conducted live demonstrations showcasing essential life-saving techniques.
  • Awareness-raising workshops run by Disneyland Paris teams
  • Presentation of the young firefighters’ program

Disneyland Paris put safety and awareness at the heart of its priorities and uses the power of its stories to raise awareness of the importance of first aid knowledge and its role in emergency situations. For the past 10 years, The Walt Disney Company’s “Wild About Safety” program has been aimed at raising children’s awareness of everyday risks. This video initiative presents Timon and Pumbaa, two iconic characters from The Lion King, showing children how to stay safe, whether they are at home, playing or visiting a theme park. They accomplish their mission by learning from their own mistakes. Once informed, Timon and Pumbaa provide safety tips through interactive games in the children’s section of the dedicated website, activity books and tip cards distributed in our parks, as well as educational and entertaining DVDs on a variety of subjects such as home safety, water, the environment, fire, the use of Internet and health. These videos are shown in hotel rooms at Disneyland Paris.

Awareness-raising workshops in schools organized since 2016 by the Disneyland Paris Safety and Prevention teams and the Fédération Nationale des Sapeur-pompiers de France (French national fire brigade federation) will resume at the end of the year.
