Both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts are updating the process for guests who are making dining reservations. The change will be a welcome one for guests visiting the Disney resorts on both coasts. Disney announced on Wednesday changes to the dining system that will make it easier for guests to find and get the reservations they really want.
All Day Reservations For a Restaurant
There are a couple of significant updates that will be found on the websites and apps for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort. First off, guests will be able to see reservations for any given restaurant for the entire day. Currently it is narrowed down to reservations within a certain time slot. This new update will allow guests the ability to prioritize and plan their day based on the availability of reservations at any given restaurant. They can weigh availability throughout the day with how much they really want to fit it into their schedule.
Reservations by Meal Period
The new updates will also allow guests to search for reservations by meal period. The results will be sorted by meal period so that guests can know which menu will be offered for the reservations being offered. This is important as often there is a price difference between breakfast and lunch versus dinner. Sometimes character dining is only available for only a specific meal during the day as well.
Dining Reservations Details
For both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, dining reservations may be made up to 60 days in advance. The times which reservations open vary by resort. At Walt Disney World Resort reservations generally open at 6:00 AM. Disneyland Resort varies on when reservations are made available. Walt Disney World Resort guests can book dining reservations for a stay (of up to 10 days) 60 days in advance of their trip as well. Most dining locations allow for modifications or cancellations of reservations as close as 2 hours in advance. Check on your dining reservations to confirm this. Finally, if you are unalbe to get reservations for the location and time that you want, continue to check as people can change their plans and reservations cam become available. This is worth checking even on the day of your visit through the app, website, or walking up to the location itself.
