Guide for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Virtual Queue at Disneyland

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens at Disneyland on January 27, 2023. This will not only be the opening day for this first attraction at Disneyland Resort devoted solely to Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, it will also be the first day of the Disney100 celebration at the Disneyland Resort. When opened, guests will be able to enter the world of cartoons with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and other Disney pals.

When it opens at Disneyland, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be utilizing a virtual queue. This is a complimentary offering that is accessed through the Disneyland app. It will also be the only way for guests to experience the ride as no standby queue will be available. There will be two chances for guests to enter the virtual queue at Disneyland. They will be at 7:00 AM PT and then a second chance at 1:00 PM PT.

There will be an opportunity to connect a group together ahead of each virtual queue window.

• Guests can connect their party together starting at 6:00 AM PT for the first access window. The first virtual queue window is accessible to guests who have valid admission and reservation that starts at Disneyland on the day they would like to experience the attraction.
• Guests already in Disneyland or who have a Park Hopper that allows them to get into Disneyland from Disney California Adventure can connect their group at 12:00 PM PT for the 1:00 PM PT virtual queue window. They will have to have valid admissions and reservations for the day as well.

Later after receiving a boarding group via the virtual queue, a notification will appear on the Disneyland app with a return window for guests to experience the attraction. Guests can only join the virtual queue once a day.

Along with the virtual queue, the opportunity will be available to purchase an individual Lighting Lane arrival window for the attraction. For both the virtual queue and the individual Lightning Lane, there will be limited availability. If availability runs out, please be patient with cast members. They simply are there to help people have a magical day and are not in control of the virtual queue or individual Lightning Lane.

This attraction will be different than the version at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort. First off, guests will enter through the El CapiTOON Theater at Disneyland. Once inside the theater, guests will get to experience a unique exhibit that is unique to the Disneyland version of the attraction. Following the exhibit experience, guests will then be boarding a train with Goofy as the engineer. Guests will then find themselves on an adventure in the cartoon world of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse and pals.

Step into the whimsical universe of a Mickey Mouse short and hitch a ride on Engineer Goofy’s train. What could possibly go wrong?

Cue hilarious hijinks! A relaxing train ride suddenly turns into a zany, free-ranging romp through ever-changing and rearranging cartoon scenes. You’ll quickly learn that anything can happen in this out-of-control animated world.

A Modern Mouse-terpiece!

You’re invited to the grand world “prem-ear” of Mickey and Minnie’s latest cartoon short, “Perfect Picnic”—and where better to watch it than Toontown’s favorite small-town movie palace, the El CapiTOON Theater!

As you tour the lobby inside, you’ll encounter “Mickey Through the Ears,” an exploration of the illustrious film career of the world’s most famous mouse, featuring movie props and memorabilia.

And when it’s your turn to step inside the auditorium to enjoy the premiere, you’ll soon learn to expect the unexpected!

How to Experience this Attraction

A virtual queue is in place for this attraction. Guests will need to use the Disneyland app to enter the attraction. A standby queue is not available at this time. Each Guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day during regular park hours.

Boarding groups for a virtual queue are limited, subject to availability and are not guaranteed. Not all boarding groups may be called to return, based on availability of the experience. View important information about the virtual queue.

Guests may also purchase individual Lightning Lane entry for this attraction. Lightning Lane entry purchases are limited in availability, are subject to change or closure, may vary by date and are not guaranteed.
