Disney KiteTails will be taking its final flight on September 30, 2022. Disney announced that the show which has brought life to the skies above Discovery River Lagoon at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary will be ending its run on this date.
The show became an instant hit due to its unpredictable nature as guests watched the kites fly in the sky and then crash down at the end of their run. Also due to the nature of the water and wind, there were some surprises that would regularly happen as well, which could be humorous. This added to the fun and excitement of the show.
Originally, the show had two versions. One version brought to life with kites the music and magic of The Jungle Book. The other had music and characters from The Lion King. Both can be seen below.

After its initial run, Disney KiteTails was modified and shortened. This is the version that has been flying above Discovery River Lagoon throughout the summer.
