Downtown Disney has opened the Soul of Jazz exhibit that started in the American Adventure at Epcot and has been traveling to show off the music of jazz. The exhibit takes its cue from Soul, the Disney Pixar film on Disney Plus, but it extends into the history of the American music form. It’s a great experience to learn more about the jazz stylings from several areas around the country, including New Orleans, New York and even LA.
Several musical instruments grace walls and cases displaying the prominent music notations of jazz. Maquettes from the Soul film also are on display. For the opening, Kevin Toney played live throughout the day. The great musician composes his own music and has been part of studio bands as well. It was a great fit to have him within the walls of a musical exhibit, and he’s a great musician to hear.
The exhibit opens daily at noon, and is worth stopping in to check out.
