CDC States that Fully Vaccinated Travelers No Longer Need COVID-19 Tests Prior to Traveling

It is now easier for some people to visit Walt Disney World Resort. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its traveling guidelines for those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. On Friday, the CDC announced that fully vaccinated people can travel at low risk to themselves. It continued that as long as coronavirus precautions are taken, this includes mask-wearing, fully vaccinated people can now travel throughout the United States without getting tested for COVID-19 or having to self-quarantine after.

The guidelines for international travel were also updated and fully vaccinated people don’t need to have a COVID-19 test before they travel unless the destination requires it. They also do not need to self-quarantine after returning to the United States. In this case, there should be a negative COVID-19 test before boarding a flight to the US, and the follow-up test three to five days after their return the CDC directed.

According to the CDC, someone is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving their final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. These new guidances do not apply to people who have not been vaccinated or are only partway through the vaccination process.

For those who have not been vaccinated, the CDC guidelines say people should be tested one to three days ahead of traveling and three to five days after traveling. This is followed by seven days of self-quarantine. For those who do not get tested after travel, the CDC guidelines instruct for a 10-day self-quarantine.

These new guidelines should make things easier for those wishing to travel to the Walt Disney World Resort that have been vaccinated. It will not change anything for Disneyland however, as when it reopens only California residents will be allowed to visit.
