There will be no 2021 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band. This annual tradition that is beloved by many Disneyland Resort guests will again not happen next summer. The announcement was made on the band’s Facebook page today. Each year, it takes months to pull together the band and prepare it for the summer season. This includes organization, auditioning, booking, and eventually rehearsing and all the details that go into bringing a band together for the summer. Due to COVID-19, there simply won’t be the time to make this happen ahead of the next season. This will mark the second consecutive year in five decades that the band won’t be playing in the summer at the Disneyland Resort.
This is what was posted on the band’s page:
This last summer the band was to have celebrated its 50th anniversary. Unfortunately, with the Disneyland Resort closed this was not possible. The Disneyland Resort continues to remain closed without a reopening date. Most summers would find 21 of the best college and university students from around the country converging on the Disneyland Resort to participate in the band. Once again, this won’t happen. What will happen in 2022 is currently unknown.
DAPS MAGIC will continue to follow this story and provide updates when they become available. This will include any information that becomes available about auditioning for the 2022 Disneyland Resort All-American College Band.
