In a press conference where Erin Guerrero, the executive director of the Californian Attractions and Parks Association, mostly spoke it was let known that the major California theme parks are considering legal action with the recent guidelines announced. Their hope is that there can be an ongoing conversation that would enable the parks to reopen sooner than predicted based on the guidelines. Executives like Ken Potrock, President of Disneyland expressed they are considering it and not going to it yet. The press conference did have senior executives from Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Legoland. All of them, not just Disneyland, expressed how remaining closed would greatly affect their companies which employ thousands of people each.

As pointed out in the article and from personal experience, theme parks have been open in other locations throughout the country with no connected COVID cases. Knott’s Berry Farm and Legoland California have been open in a non-theme park function with no connected cases either. As it was said, it will be something to consider as the companies are hopeful for ongoing talks or if it comes to a legal action against the state.
