Disney Celebrates Lakers 2019-2020 NBA Championship Win By Lighting Cinderella Castle With Team Colors

The Los Angeles Lakers won the 2019-2020 NBA Championship on Sunday night. This year, the championships took place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Center. To celebrate the win, the Walt Disney World Resort lit up Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom with the Lakers team colors.

Cinderella Castle received the purple and gold colors immediately following the Lakers win in game six.

This came after the NBA finished its season at Walt Disney World Resort this summer. Starting in July, 22 NBA teams came to the Walt Disney World Resort to finish the season at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. There they competed for spots in the NBA playoffs. Over the course of three months, 205 games were played. The conclusion of this was the Lakers overcoming the Miami Heat to win the 2019-2020 NBA Finals.
