Disney Aspire Benefit to End for Laid Off Cast Members at The Walt Disney Company

The Disney Aspire program has been a great benefit for Disney Cast Member seeking higher education. This program covers the cost of tuition and books at eligible schools so cast members can receive a degree. This week, it was made clear that cast members affected by the layoffs would no longer be able to participate in this benefit.

While the program will be ending for cast members no longer employed by the company, the benefit will not be going away entirely. Cast Members that have not been affected by the layoffs will continue to pursue their degree and take full advantage of this benefit.

Hope is not completely lost for laid-off cast members. If the Cast Member affected was learning a trade, English, or getting their GEDs through Disney Aspire, they will be allowed to complete their program. Many students in the program are learning English as a second language and they will be allowed to continue their education.

Of course, this is an incredibly tragic situation because it’s not just taking away a career but also accessible education. If you want to look for a way to support affected Cast Members during this time, be sure to check out our links here.
