The Disneyland Resort took one more step closer to reopening this week. State and local governments have approved the phased reopening plans for Downtown Disney, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. The news came via the Disneyland website. At this point, the reopening plan for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure still needs to be approved.
Here is what was found on the Disneyland website:
We are pleased to announce our proposed plans for a phased reopening of the Disneyland Resort.
- July 9 — Downtown Disney District
- July 23 — Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel
Pending state and local government approvals:
- July 17 — Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park
This news comes during a week that has been dominated by news of Walt Disney World’s Disney Park Pass System, a reservation system for guests wishing to visit the parks for the foreseeable future. It is expected a similar system will be utilized at the Disneyland Resort as well. This will help Disney regulate capacity in the parks as they work to create a safe and magical environment.
Upon their return, guests will find the Disney experience modified to create a healthy and safe experience. This will include social distancing, cashless transactions, and mandatory wearing of face masks.
