ZENIMATION Arrives on Disney+ Offering an Animated Soundscape Experience

Today Disney+ debuted a new series of animated-short form soundscape experiences in the form of ZENIMATION. This 10-episode series offers a different approach to animation. It offers scenes from different animated Disney movies with just the sounds of nature. Each short is focused on a different type of soundscape experience. The music and dialogue are stripped from the scenery leaving simply the sounds of the environment and the beautiful animation.

ZENIMATION Description

Unplug, relax, and refresh your senses for a moment of mindfulness with Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zenimation” – an animated soundscape experience. Whether it’s baby Moana being called by the ocean, Anna and Kristoff walking through an icy forest, or Baymax and Hiro Hamada flying over San Fransokyo, these iconic scenes become an aural experience like no other with the sounds of ocean waves, an icy forest and soaring flight. “Zenimation” pays tribute to both the visual and sound artists who have created Walt Disney Animation Studios’ legacy of films. ZENIMATION is a beautiful experience to watch and enjoy. It definitely has a calming effect watching the various scenes in such a simple way. From hearing the sounds of water trickling to the bell of a streetcar, this is a series that is as beautiful to listen to as it is to watch. It also spans a lot of different Disney movies that don’t always get as much of the spotlight. These are films like Meet the Robinsons, Atlantis, Bolt, and Treasure Planet. ZENIMATION is a surprisingly simple and beautiful experience.
