Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway had been open just a short time before Walt Disney World Resort had to shut its gates due to coronavirus. While guests may not be able to experience the attraction currently at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, they can now experience it at home. Disney has released the Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway: Adventure Kit on DisneyNOW mobile app.
The Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway: Adventure Kit app is a free game. It allows guests to control Mickey and friends’ cars, trains, and more. All of this is done through a series of different scenic adventures. This new “off-the-rails sandbox game” is based on the attraction that is currently at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway: Adventure Kit allows guests to choose one of three characters: Goofy, Mickey, or Minnie. It also allows a choice of one of three worlds: Runnamuck Park, Big City Snarl, and Carnival Chaos. This is all straight from the attraction and designed to allow guests to relive the adventure in the comfort of their home utilizing augmented reality.
DisneyNOW is a kids-safe app that features programming from the Disney Channel’s different shows and series. It also has DCOMs and games. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway: Adventure Kit in DisneyNOW can be accessed here (mobile only).
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on March 4, 2020. It is the first ride-through attraction dedicated to Mickey & Minnie Mouse and utilizes a trackless ride system to take guests right into the middle of a Mickey Mouse cartoon.
