Meet Jeff Vahle, the New President of the Walt Disney World Resort

This week there were plenty of announcements made about leadership changes at Disney. Josh D’Amaro was named Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. Ken Potrock was named President of the Disneyland Resort. At Walt Disney World Resort, Jeff Vahle was named President.

Vahle has worked for The Walt Disney Company for 30 years. Most recently he was the President of Disney Signature Experiences. Now, he takes over the role most recently held by Josh D’Amaro. The Walt Disney World Resort has the largest single-site workforce in the United States of America. In his new role, he will oversee the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios, two water parks, 28 resort hotels, four golf courses, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and also Disney Springs.

“With Walt Disney World approaching its 50th anniversary, there could not be a more gratifying time to be selected for this role and to work with the incredible team responsible for creating magical memories for millions of guests each year,” said Mr. Vahle. “I plan to continue to build on the momentum from Josh’s tenure, bringing even more innovative entertainment and experiences to our guests.”

On top of his new role as President of the Walt Disney World Resort, Vahle will continue to oversee Facilities & Operations Services for Disney theme parks worldwide. This is responsible for engineering, maintenance, construction, utilities, manufacturing, sourcing and procurement, safety and health, and asset management programs at Disney resorts globally.

Mr. Vahle’s previous role oversaw multiple businesses for Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. With his leadership he was tasked with inspiring teams around the globe to deliver the Disney experience. In this role he oversaw Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Adventures by Disney, Golden Oak, and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa (collectively called Disney Signature Experiences).

Since beginning his career at Disney in 1990, Vahle has become a respected senior executive. According to Disney, he is ” committed to driving creativity and innovation, exceeding guest expectations and delivering long-term business growth.” His career has found him in multiple high-profile leadership positions in operations, engineering, technology and global support services.

During his time with the Disney Cruise Line, Mr. Vahle oversaw the expansion of Disney’s cruise line fleet. This includes three new ships that will showcase Disney magic on the seas with immersive family entertainment, storytelling, and the service for which Disney is known.

In Florida, Mr. Vahle is active in the Central Florida community. He is currently the chairman of the board of directors for Give Kids the World and is also a member of the Rollins College Board of Trustees.

Mr. Vahle earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Rollins College.
