Florida Governor Approves Reopening Plans for Walt Disney World

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has approved the reopening for SeaWorld Orlando and Walt Disney World. Both resorts submitted their reopening plans to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force on Wednesday.

Orange County, Florida Mayor Jerry L. Demings tweeted today: “I am pleased to announce that I have received word from Halsey Beshears, Secretary of @FloridaDBPR, that @WaltDisneyWorld Resort and @SeaWorld have received approval of their re-opening plans. #SeaWorld will re-open June 10 and #WaltDisneyWorld  Resort will be July 11.”

This announcement now officially allows both resorts to proceed with their approved reopening plans and dates submitted this week.

Walt Disney World will reopen Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Saturday, July 11. EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will reopen on Wednesday, July 15. Disney Springs reopened on May 20.

Guests will also need a reservation to enter a theme park, and guests 2 years and older will be required to wear masks. Guest Services such as reserved dining, FastPass+, as well as other usual Park amenities have been discontinued for the time being.
