Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort to Halt Annual Pass Payments Indefinitely

Last month, Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort announced that they would be closing to the public indefinitely while the world responds to COVID-19. During this uncertain time, many Disney Annual Passholders have been concerned about the state of their pass and the payment they continue to make. Today, The Walt Disney Company announced that they would halt annual pass payments while the parks stay closed.

For annual passholders that paid for the pass in full, they are given the option to extend the renewal date or receive a partial refund for the dates the Disney parks continue to be closed. This only applies to passholders that have paid in full, as it seems that they will not extend expiration dates for those who are using the monthly payment plan. Disney will provide information soon on how to choose this option.

If you are someone who uses the monthly payment option, you can simply halt all payments while the park is closed. If you choose this option, your renewal date will not be extended to account for the park closures, as this option allows you to not pay while the parks are closed and simply begin again when they reopen. There will be no paying for the lost months with this option.

If you would like your renewal date extended, you can choose to postpone your payments to when the parks reopen. This means that you will not be paying while the parks are closed but will be able to “make up” for the lost months with this option. Disney will make an official announcement soon on how to choose whichever option you prefer.
