The Walt Disney Company Purchases More Land Near Walt Disney World Resort

Last year, The Walt Disney Company purchased 235 acres of land northwest of Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course. This week, we found out that Disney has purchased 26 acres of more land adjacent to the spot they purchased from Lake Reedy LLC just last month.

While Disney has not disclosed what their intent is with this land, fans have begun to speculate on everything from new gates to hotel properties, it is uncertain the state of any potential planned product. Before the outbreak of COVID-19 in The United States, there were many construction crews bringing new plans to life at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. Unfortunately, due to the concerns from the pandemic, those crews have been temporarily halted.

At this time, Walt Disney World Resort has only announced that they will stay closed indefinitely and will reopen when they can safely welcome guests in through the gates again. While we don’t know any date soon, we know that they have currently stopped accepting reservations before June 1 and are running a promotion that will begin in June and end September 30.
