Season 3 of The Mandalorian in the Works for Disney+

The Mandalorian is set to return for its second season on Disney+ in October. However, season 3 is apparently already in the works. According to Variety, Jon Favreau has been “writing season 3 for a while” for the hit Disney+ show. The news comes ahead of the release of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, a docuseries about the making of the show.

According to Variety, Jon Favreau is joined in the efforts by Lucasfilm vice president and executive creative director Doug Chiang, who is leading the art department. Work has been done on the third season of the show for weeks.

According to one source, “We’ve just started pre-production and are looking into further adventures for the Mandalorian in Season 3.” Another source confirmed that the production design department began work on season three on April 20. This is due to the amount of lead time needed for each season and the work involved in bringing it to life.

Currently, Disney hasn’t officially confirmed a third season for The Mandalorian. However, it would make sense that the show would return for a third outing after the positive reception fo the first season and the anticipation for the second season. It is expected that Rosario Dawson will be appearing in the second season as the fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano.

Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, the making of docuseries, will be arriving on Disney+ on May 4th and then the next 7 episodes will be appearing on Fridays following its release.
