Rick Moranis is Back for “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” Reboot

Rick Moranis is returning to the series he made famous. Moranis, the star of the original Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is returning for a reboot entitled Shrunk. Moranis isn’t the only one returning from the original series for this movie. Joe Johnston, the director of the original, will be directing this new version.

In Shrunk, Josh Gad will be portraying the son of Wayne Szalinski who was the character that Moranis originated. Josh Gad’s character will be an aspiring scientist just like his father… who unfortunately shrinks his kids.

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids was followed by two more movies. Honey, I Blew up the Kid and then Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves. He also appeared as Wayne Szalinski in the Disney attraction Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.

In recent years, Moranis hasn’t appeared on screen for live-action films. In fact, his last time on the big screen was in 1994 for Little Giants. He has lent his voice to some animated projects however.
