This morning, fans of musical theater woke up to some pretty exciting news. Over the past few years, television broadcasting networks have made it a tradition to take musicals to the small screen and make a live event for fans to enjoy. Today, they announced that Young Frankenstein would be coming to television in a live event this Fall!
This will only be ABC’s second live musical event, after The Little Mermaid in November. The Disney classic was a success for the network and brought together families and fans for the epic event. Starring Auli’i Cravalho and many other notable names from Hollywood, the production brought in nine million viewers, making it one of the most successful live musical events. We can only imagine that the success of 2019’s live event from ABC is leading us to this next musical this year!
We can’t wait to see how ABC takes on Young Frankenstein! This comedy musical has been delighting fans since it debuted on Broadway in 2007. While we don’t know details about casting or an official air date yet, we can’t wait to see it when it hits our TVs this Fall!
