Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Tops Box Office For Third Week in a Row

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker continues to win at the box office. This weekend the final film in the Skywalker Saga was in the top spot for a third weekend in a row garnering another $33.7 million. This brings its 17-day domestic total to $450.8 million. Globally the film is sitting at $918.8 million.

The film is not on track to reach the levels of its two predecessors. Star Wars: The Last Jedi reached $1.3 billion. Star Wars: The Force Awakens brought in an even more impressive $2 billion. However, it is by no means a failure as it steams towards the billion dollar mark. It is expected to be Disney’s seventh film released in 2019 to hit the billion dollar mark.
