Peyton Reed will continue to be the man driving the Ant-Man movies. He directed Ant-Man first in 2015 and then Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018. Next, he will be directing Ant-Man 3.
Along with Peyton Reed returning to direct, it is expected that Paul Rudd will be returning for the title role. Beyond that, not much is known. Currently, a specific release date isn’t known. It is expected that the movie will begin shooting at the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021. If this is the case, it will most likely be released in 2022. Filming for this would take place after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder filmed.
Peyton Reed originally was brought in to Marvel Studios to replace the original Ant-Man director Edgar Wright. Reed was brought in fairly late in the development process. In the following film, he was more involved in the development process. The first film grossed $519.3 million at the box office. The second film brought in $622.6 million.
