Today, Disney announced that The Imagineering Story, a docuseries that focuses on the magic that makes The Walt Disney Company special. This highly anticipated series has been in the works for quite some time and is sure to delight fans who love to see the magic come to life.

The trailer for this series was originally released in 2013, with an endcap that said the film would be released in 2016. The trailer, which you can watch below, shows footage and interviews from all times in Imagineering, from the creation of Disneyland to Shanghai Disneyland. Here is what the Iwerks & Co. website has to say about this documentary.

Creating happiness is hard work. This six-hour documentary series chronicles the sixty-five year history of Walt Disney Imagineering, a place equal parts artistic studio, design center, think tank and innovation laboratory. This is the story of an eclectic group of creative people, the Imagineers, who bring to life the Happiest Places on Earth.

We learned earlier this year that Angela Basset would be narrating this new series coming to the streaming service. We have previously seen Angela Basset in Marvel’s Black Panther as Ramonda, the mother of T’Challa.

The series will feature six hour-long episodes featuring the magic of Disney. This series comes from Leslie Iwerks, daughter of Disney Legend Don Iwerks and granddaughter of Ub Iwerks. Iwerks is a revered director and has worked on projects celebrating Disney, Pixar, and even Industrial Light & Magic.
