Sunday Recap Report – An Electric Day and Night at the Parks

Welcome back to another Sunday Recap Report! It was yet another warm day at the Disneyland Resort, but it was a fun filled day nonetheless!

I arrived shortly after 11am, and after walking around for a little while decided to take a grand circle tour of Disneyland. After enjoying the Disneyland Railroad, I headed to Coke Corner for a snack. I got a cream cheese filled pretzel and a drink in the refillable Annual Passholder tumbler. While at Coke Corner, I saw the new Firefly hot dog. It’s a limited time offer to celebrate the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade. It has corn chips, chili, cheese, and jalapeños.

Around 12:20pm, I met up with Mr. DAPs, Caitie, and our friend Jeff behind the Castle. We were waiting for the Disneyland Band, along with Mickey and friends for the Main Street March. We wanted to see the show as the Band and characters were getting ready for it.

After seeing the Band and characters, we headed to Market House for some refreshing drinks, and then went to Coke a Corner. We sat there for awhile watching the piano player, as well as the Dapper Dans! They put on a fun show, and it was nice to see them!

After watching the Dapper Dans, we headed to Galaxy’s Edge for awhile. We continued our Star Wars adventure in Tomorrowland as we happened upon Captain Phasma. She was patrolling and coming into contact with those causing trouble. She definitely meant business! Definitely be sure to mind your business when you see Captain Phasma in Tomorrowland.

We then headed to the Hub for some photos before heading to the Main Street Train Station. It was time for another grand circle tour of the day for me. A trip on the Disneyland Railroad is always relaxing no matter if it’s a cool day or a warm day.

Following the grand circle tour of Disneyland, we headed across the esplanade to Disney California Adventure. We stopped by Julius Katz & Sons. I saw some Haunted Mansion 50th anniversary merchandise. There are figurines, a mini ornament set, tumblers, mugs, and more!

As we were walking near the Cars Land entrance, we saw Red the Fire Truck doing a meet and greet there. I don’t think I had ever seen Red parked there so that was different. We also stopped by Jumpin’ Jellyfish before making our way to the Wharf for dinner.

I had dinner from Cocina Cucamonga. I got the fish tacos plate, which had 3 fish tacos with a mango habanero sauce, and served with rice and black beans. And I also got chips and guacamole, plus I refilled my AP tumbler. The fish tacos are not on the regular menu as they seem to be a limited time special. They are available to order via Mobile Order on the Disneyland App.

After dinner, we went to the Palisades Stage to see Tale of The Lion King. The show will end its run on September 2 so be sure to see it before then.

We then headed back to Disneyland to wait for the Main Street Electrical Parade! It made its return on Friday night, and will continue its limited run until September 30. There will be two performances nightly – 8:45pm and 10:45pm – so there will be plenty of opportunities to see this Disneyland classic.

One of my favorite units in the Electrical Parade is the Alice in Wonderland unit. There are so many characters from Alice to the Cheshire Cat to the various turtles and bugs, it’s definitely a fun part of the parade!

The Cinderella and Peter Pan units followed the Alice unit. And who remembers when the Tinker Bell float lead the parade during Summer Nightastic about 10 years ago at Disney California Adventure?!

The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Pinocchio units followed. And of course we also get to see our favorite green dragon Elliott in the Pete’s Dragon unit!

And as always, the ‘To Honor America’ float ends the parade! This unit is the longest in the parade, and I believe the longest float in any Disney parade in history!

And that concludes this week’s Sunday Recap Report! It was another fun day at the Parks, and next week will be a very early, fun, and busy Sunday with the annual CHOC Walk In The Park! See you next week for more adventures!
