Toy Story 4 Garners $118 Million During Its Opening Weekend

Disney-Pixar’s latest Toy Story flick has arrived in theaters and moviegoers are arriving as well to watch it. Over the weekend, Toy Story 4 took in $118 Million at the box office domestically. This take made it the number movie of the weekend in theaters. While it did take the win for the weekend, it didn’t perform as well as was expected. Disney had originally expected it to take in around $22 million more than it ended up doing in the first weekend.

The movie is the fourth in the Toy Story series and has been receiving generally good reviews, including by the DAPS MAGIC team. However, last year’s Incredibles 2 brought in $182.7 million on its opening weekend. It did make more than Coco did in its opening weekend. Coco brought in $50.8 million on its opening weekend in 2017. Toy Story 4 box office take comes in after other Disney owned films that have come out include Captain Marvel, which debuted with a $153.4 million on its opening weekend, and Avengers: Endgame, which opened with $357.1 million during its first weekend. Internationally, Toy Story 4 brought in another $120 million.

Toy Story 4 brings Woody, Buzz, and the gang back together (including Bo Peep) and introduces a new character named Forky. Things get interesting for these beloved toys when a road trip takes them on an adventure they never anticipated.
