Last week the U.S. Navy Blue Angels flew over Epcot and Spaceship Earth in a spectacular display of precision flying. This was done to honor and celebrate National Military Appreciation Month. The Blue Angels flew over Spaceship Earth twice. They did so from 500 feet above the ground as they traveled 250 miles per hour. During one pass, they performed the “Delta Break” maneuver above Spaceship Earth.
Disney and the military have a long tradition of celebrating and honoring the service and those who serve. Disney has a program dedicated to hiring veterans in a program called Heroes Work Here. They also recently screened AVENGERS: ENDGAME for current active duty military in Afghanistan.
The Blue Angels have been representing the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps since 1946. This is done in performances both in the United States and also internationally. Now in their 73rd year, they strive to showcase the ” excitement and power of naval aviation” says the commander of the Blue Angels.
