Bob Iger Announces Disney Vault Program Ending at Walt Disney Company’s 2019 Shareholder Meeting

This morning, Disney fans were overjoyed to learn more details about the Walt Disney Company. While Galaxy’s Edge took center stage at the shareholder’s meeting, we’re excited to share about the Disney+ Streaming Service with you!

Disney Vault

Of course, the newest service has been highly anticipated by fans as everything from Disney classics to Marvel will be available on demand. One of the biggest things Bob Iger announced today is that absolutely everything from the Disney catalog will be on Disney+. This means that fans will no longer have to purchase films according to the Disney Vault schedule. The Vault has been an ongoing marketing strategy by Disney to increase the exclusivity of owning the films. This means that with the Disney+ Streaming Service coming to homes, the Disney Vault program will officially end.

Launch Date

Fans have been wondering when the service will come into their homes and how much it will cost. All we know is that the service will cost less than Netflix, as the service will have much less programming available at launch. Iger also told us today that we can expect to experience our favorite Disney favorites on demand by late 2019. While this may not be as soon as we hope for, it is exciting to know that we will have it by the end of the year!
