A trip down Route 66 in Cars Land wouldn’t be complete without a drive on Radiator Springs Racers. Since 2012, this incredible attraction has been taking guests through Radiator Springs in an immersive Cars experience. Not only do guests get to experience the world of Disney-Pixar Cars, but they also get to race each other on this attraction. Radiator Springs is a must-ride attraction for anyone visiting Disney California Adventure.
Radiator Springs Racers came to the Disneyland Resort in 2012 during the massive expansion of Disney California Adventure. It was first announced in October of 2007. Construction on the land began in 2009. It wasn’t until 2010 that specific details were shared about the attraction. This was done by Imagineer Kathy Magnum during a “What’s Next” presentation. Radiator Springs Racers opened to the public on June 15, 2012. It was an instant favorite and opening day lines were around six hours.
Today it continues to be popular with lines that can be hours long. Taking a ride on Radiator Springs Racers is like riding into the real-life world of Cars. Below are videos from the opening of this attraction and also today!
