It is worth noting that this is the first time that Marvel Studios has secured a Best Picture nomination for the Oscars. It has also been a bit of a controversy that the Oscars have looked over comic book films for Best Picture many times in the past. Black Panther finally broke out of the traditional superhero film mold and historically got the nomination! Feige said on the Oscar nomination “What I hope is the success that Black Panther does is open the doors for more filmmakers like Ryan Coogler and more representation on screen.” We definitely hope to see the same!
We are definitely excited to see the Oscar nominations that Disney received this morning! I am definitely excited to see Christopher Robin and Solo: A Star Wars Story in the mix for visual effects!
